The Trust has currently 500 volunteers working across the three of the four sites. However, we are very eager to have more volunteers and especially so at Heartlands. We recognise the value that volunteers can bring to an acute NHS Trust and the many ways in which they can improve the patient journey.
Some patients have relatives that live far away or simply do not have relatives. The ward staff work extremely hard and sometimes do not have the time to talk to the patients or engage with them for any length of time.
Within the service itself there are many groups and we will endeavour to find a group which suits you. It's so important that you feel that your skills and strengths are utilised in the best ways. Also, that there is a friendly family feel to the environment in which you are working.
