We are one of the largest foundation trusts in the country, with over 11,000 employees providing general and specialist hospital and community care for the people of East Birmingham, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth and South Staffordshire.
We pride ourselves on having services at the heart of our communities. Our hospitals include Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Solihull Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Birmingham Chest Clinic. We also provide community health services across the borough of Solihull and run a number of smaller satellite units, allowing people to be treated as close to home as possible.

Poly Implant Prothese media coverage – HEFT
You may have seen the recent media coverage regarding Poly Implant Prothese, a supplier of potentially faulty breast implants. Poly Implant Prothese, was shut down by the French authorities after they discovered that their implants used cheap industrial silicone.
We can confirm that Heart of England NHS Foundation has never, at any of its sites (Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital or Solihull Hospital) used this supplier. The Trust was made aware of the potential issue via national Medical Devices Alerts in March 2010 and October 2010. A full investigation and review was undertaken, confirming that this supplier was not used by the Trust.
Therefore there is no cause for concern for any patients who have undergone breast surgery or breast reconstruction procedures at the Trust, and patients do not need to contact the Trust or to be recalled or reviewed.
