As we have entered the winter season we are starting to see an increase of norovirus within the community. Norovirus is highly infectious during this time of the year and outbreaks are common. It is vital that anyone who is feeling unwell with symptoms of nausea, vomiting and or diarrhoea, should not visit hospitals as this will increases the risk of spreading the infection to patients and staff.

All three Hospitals are seeing unprecedented levels of people attending A&E. There are over 40% more people attending A&E than this time last year. If you are in need of medical advise and care and your local GP is closed you can attend one of two Urgent Care Centres: Warren Farm Urgent Care Centre in Kingstanding, or Washwood Heath Urgent Care Centre. They are open over the Christmas period offering emergency medical appointments on Saturday 26 December, Monday 28 December and Saturday 2 January 2010.
